C&G 4411-11 Certificate for Introduction to Customer Service (Level 1)


This Level 1 distance learning programme is focused on providing the learner with underpinning knowledge so introducing them to working within a customer focused environment. It is suitable for students who may be seeking employment in the customer service industry or those already in the workplace who lack recognised qualifications. 

Am I Ready?

There are no formal entry requirements. However, the student must be able to read and understand the learning resources and complete the written work with moderate assistance. Students will therefore benefit from a general level 1 education (NVQ 1 / GCSE Grades D-G/3-1) You will be expected to read, understand and complete a student agreement and enrolment form. Part of this will expect you to dedicate time and energy to your study.

Course Details


This Level 1 distance learning programme covers the basic elements of how to deliver an excellent customer service experience and will equip the student with the necessary skills to work in and support customer service delivery. This qualification is knowledge based and will suit you if you have limited or no previous experience in Customer Service but are looking to develop your skills in this industry. The course is delivered over an 8 week period and the student will be expected to complete 6 workbooks to a satisfactory standard in their own time. Additional tutor support is provided for the duration of the course via email, telephone, test message and post. Access to a laptop/technology is required to complete this course and submit the evidence electronically although students can complete paper copies of the workbooks if this is not accessible to them.


Completion of 6 workbooks that are assessed internally and are externally moderated by the awarding body.

Fees & Funding

Low Income / Unemployed Seeking Work

Students that are unemployed and currently seeking work, or on a low income of up to £18,525.00 per annum may be able to enrol to a course at Level 2 or below free of charge. This is a government initiative and the course offer is subject to change. Grantham College reserves the right to offer a substitute course if the qualification advertised is not funded by the government. This does not affect your rights under Consumer Law.
