Level 3 Travel & Tourism students host coffee morning to raise awareness on Fairtrade

The coffee morning took place in our airline room where staff members and students from the college were able to find out more about Fairtrade, take part in a quiz and sample some Fairtrade products including Fairtrade chocolate, tea and coffee.

As part of her assignment, year 2 student Ada Pluta took the responsibility of organising and managing the event with the help of her fellow classmates. Ada had been planning the coffee morning for over a month before the event was due to take place and was involved in all the aspects from the marketing, purchasing all the required items and even managing her peers.

“It was my first time organising an event like this. There were some challenging times but I am glad that I was able to overcome them. It has been a great experience and I am happy that it has become a success,” said Ada.

The coffee morning had many visitors who all enjoyed the educational break as they tasted some treats and took part in the Fairtrade quiz. The winner of the quiz was Amy Hughes from Travel & Tourism who won a big Cadbury Dairy Milk bar which is also Fairtrade.

This is just one of the many exciting events that you can expect to be part of when you study Travel & Tourism with us. Other events include In-Flight sessions with local schools, charity fundraising and a trip abroad as part of the Erasmus+ programme.
