Grantham College staff and students participate in the annual Rotary Swimarathon and help raise £30,000

The annual event is organised by the Rotary Club of Grantham to raise money for local charities, deserving causes and community projects around Grantham. It has become a well-known tradition for staff and students from Grantham College to take part in the annual Swimarathon.

The Swimarathon has been running successfully for 29 years and collectively they have raised an incredible £800,000 so far. The event took place in Grantham Meres Leisure centre over the three days in which 230 teams of 1,400 swimmers completed a total of 30,013 lengths.

Representing the Grantham College team was a mixture of students, staff and family members of all ages and swimming abilities. The team was joined by many encouraging supporters who kept the team spirit at a high and helped all the swimmers perform their best.

The college team was presented a certificate for taking part and supporting the community from Andrew Redman, President of Rotary Club of Grantham.

In the past Rotary Club have also helped contribute towards the funds for the cost of Grantham College’s Day Break mini bus.
