It was a lovely sunshiny day when I abseiled down the face of the tower of St. Wulfram’s church under the expert guidance of the territorial Army with the aim of raising money for the church and Help for the Heroes. People had come from the town and were sitting together on the grass around the church, chatting , eating, drinking and relaxing, watching the once a year big drop event.
It took me sometime to climb the stairs to the top of the church. Once I got to the balcony I didn’t feel it was high for me, because of the buildings in my town are even taller. I am used to the height. The army helped me to equip myself and checked me for safety. Then I started my big drop. The first step out I was shocked and frightened. It felt like the earth was trying to pull you down! And when I looked up I saw two thin ropes without any support. It too me 5 minutes to get down to the ground.
I had done it! It was a nice day.

Hi Kit here, I joined my friends Leo and Jack last Saturday to abseil down the church. I abseiled at two o’clock after Jack. The army was very helpful and I really enjoyed the experience.
I would do it all again!
