Apprenticeship
Grant For Employers


A grant of £1500 is available from 1 February 2012 until March 2013 for employers (with less than 250 employees) who recruit an Apprentice aged 16-24 for the first time.

This site offers a range of tests that you can do to find out your abilities for relevant career skills, your personality and the type of career that you may do well in. Make use of the free sample tests to get an insight, or you have the option to buy a full test (but try speaking to us before you do - we could save you the money).

The BBC Radio One's 'One Life' site is an excellent place to start your search, with information on everything from working out what you want to do, to getting your dream job. You can find help on putting together a CV and dealing with problems once you get your dream job.

This excellent BBC resource gives you help with key skills such as using a computer, dealing with numbers or improving your communication skills. These are the skills that any employer will look for.

If you don't really like using words or numbers, then this site is a great place to build your confidence with both. A range of interactive materials makes it easy and fun to improve your skills.
