Business Development Centre Facilities

The Business Development Centre is part of Grantham College. We run training courses that are delivered in the workplace, such as Apprenticeships. We have a strong track record of success with our students and we have won a number of awards for our work-based training programmes. Because we are part of Grantham College, you also get access to a range of services and facilities that will enhance your learning experience.

Childcare Centre & After-School Club

The Stepping Stones Childcare Centre is located close to the main campus at the Castlegate Centre. Open every day between 8.30am and 6.00pm, it caters mainly for children between six months and five years of age. An After-School Club and Breakfast Club for four to eleven year olds are also provided. For further details call the Nursery Manager on 01476 400228.

Sport

The College has an excellent range of sports facilities including a large indoor sports hall, a squash court and a supervised fitness suite. You also have the opportunity to represent the College in a wide range of sports including basketball, football, hockey, netball, rugby and swimming.

Food & Drink

The main refectory offers choice of meals at very competitive prices. If you prefer something quicker, snacks are available from vending machines throughout the College or from the College Shop - Nixx. With seating for 100 people and a wide choice of hot and cold snacks, Nixx is a great place to relax. Hot meals are available from 4.30pm Tuesday - Thursday. Students, staff and the general public can also dine in the College's Witham Room Restaurant which is run by the Hospitality & Catering Department.

Learning Support

We want to help you reach your full potential. The level of learning support provided depends on your own needs and may include mobility assistance, extra support in English and maths, dyslexia assessment and support, large screen monitors and learning support assistance in class. The College is also a recognised Centre of Excellence for the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB), who provides specially adapted software at the College if you are visually impaired.

e-Learning Centre

The e-Learning Centre is a state-of-the-art facility.  It includes 90 computers, Internet access and a range of Microsoft software packages. You will be able to use the Centre to carry out your studies using interactive materials from 8.30am - 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am - 4.30pm on Fridays.

Library

The College has a well stocked library, giving you access to over 30,000 books, a wide range of magazines, DVDs, daily newspapers and an Open Public Access Computer (OPAC) system for research and reserving books. You can also access the Internet, photocopying facilities and various on-line databases.

Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy Salon
