Applicants should normally possess 3 GCSEs (Grade C or above, including English and Mathematics), or equivalent. You may be required to continue to study Maths, English or IT as part of your course.
The BTEC National Award is equivalent to one A Level and allows you to obtain the relevant skills required for entry into the Public Services. Skills learnt on this course include leadership, discipline and understanding of physical fitness.
The course is made up of six units:
Students are assessed throughout the course through assignments, observation, practical tests and an externally marked assignment.
On successful completion of this award you will be able to progress onto the second year of a Certificate course or apply for direct entry to one of the Public Services.
