Welcome to Stepping Stones
Here at stepping stones we aim to provide a secure, stimulating and caring environment, which will encourage your child to develop to their maximum potential whist in a happy and homely atmosphere. We offer your child fun filled days of activities which will provide them with opportunities to express themselves through play, help them learn and make lots of new friends.
We understand that leaving your child for the first time in nursery is a big event and can be stressful and an upsetting time for you and sometimes, your child, so therefore, we try and make this as easy as possible. Our priority is to help you and your family feel welcome and relaxed. We offer a variety of full and part time places with flexible hours and wrap around care.
Baby Room 6-18 Months-Staff ratio 1-3
This is a home from home where your baby will receive all the love and attention they need. This room is bright and well equipped where staff ensure babies are safe and comfortable. The carefully selected toys help early stages of development. We will try as much as possible to keep to your babies routine and accommodate your requests.
As your child gets older they are encouraged to develop their independent skills where they are able to enjoy craft activities, sand and water play and exploring the world around them.
Toddler Room 18-36 Mon-Ths-Staff ratio 1-3/1-4
Our toddler room is a fun, lively caring place to be. Throughout the day we have various activities including singing, stories and time for free play. We also start to introduce some structured play into our busy and varied day with the aid of the statutory frame work for the early years foundation stage(EYFS). The children now start to learn some simple goals and boundaries before moving into the next room.
Explorer Room 36 Months + - Staff ratio 1-8
Children learn through practical experience and play, the day is carefully structured and planned to enable each child to develop at his or her own pace and to make learning fun! In accordance with the EYFS. All children become eligible for the nursery education grants in the term after their third birthday.
Outside Play Facilities
Our secure outside area gives the opportunity for safe play enabling children of all abilities to develop good muscle control co-ordination. The children gain new skills through balancing equipment, hopping, skipping, jumping and climbing. Enjoy a shady area to explore the insect life and make new friends. Meet Bill and Ben in our vegetable patch.
Nutritionally balanced meals are freshly prepared daily on the premises. Our weekly menus are displayed for you to check daily fruit and veg portions. All snacks throughout the day are healthy choices.
After School/Playscheme
We provide a varied program with a good mix of planned activities and free choices. We encourage team building and independence. The children are also involved in the planning of activities.
We escort children from St Marys, Little Gonerby and National schools.
FOSS-Friends of Stepping Stones.
Friends of Stepping Stones has been running for a number of years. It consists of a group of parents, staff and friends with an aim to provide extra fund raising activities which are fun.
In the past we have had disco and live bands, 70‘s/80‘s night, summer fayre‘s, childrens disco‘s.
We have provided money for large climbing frame/climbing wall/rope bridge, willow sculpture, sun light protection canopy, outside seating, soft play surfaces.

Fees
Stepping Stones Nursery is happy to work in association with Grantham College. All staff and students are entitled to a preferential rate which will be individually negotiated depending on the hours of attendance. Please speak with the manager for further details
